Places to Visit (Jakarta Birthday Edition)

Happy Birthday Jakarta!! 22nd of June 2023 

Okok, sooo... if you are reading this article right now, or you going to Jakarta for the very first time. Then you should finish this article!!

Maybe we don't have nice beaches like in Bali or Lombok, maybe we don't have amazing mountains like in Java area, but ....  ok just keep reading

Best Hotel to Stay (near mall and nice bars)

Kuningan Area

Good place near hotel: St. Regist Bar/Loewy/ Henshin/ Angel and Demons bar (for casual drinks)

Thamrin Area

* Pullman Thamrin

Good place near hotel: Grand Indonesia Mall (Remboelan Restaurant for Indonesian foods, Skye Rooftop for dinner and casual drinks) / Plaza Indonesia Mall (Cork and Screw/Cloud Lounge Rooftop for dinner and casual drinks)

Senayan Area

* Mulia Hotel

* Fairmont Hotel

Good place near hotel: Senayan City and Plaza Senayan (for shopping) / H Club SCBD, Stalk SCBD, Izzy Club Senopati, The Cocktail Club Senopati

IDR 400,000 - 900,000  

Kuningan Area

* Royal Kuningan 
Good place near hotel: Loewy/Henshin/Angel and Demons Bar

Setia Budi Area

* La Boheme
Good place near hotel: Loewy/Henshin/Angel and Demons Bar

Well, i don't have many recommendation for this budget because actually it's difficult to find cheap hotels in good area

Mall to Visit

1. Grand Indonesia (go to SKYE Lounge to see Jakarta's view from the top is a must)

2. Plaza Indonesia (go to Cork n Screw or Cloud Lounge for casual drinks or go to Gucci or LV if you wanna buy expensive shit)

3. Sarinah (if you are looking for Batik) 

4. Senayan City (nothing special tbh, but this is a good mall. Or maybe you can go to Blackpond or Cork n Screw Golf Club near Senayan City for live music and drinks)

5. Plaza Senayan (Union Resto for lunch)

Bars

1. Cloud Lounge - not so many people come here, but the view is amazing!!)

2. Cafe California - its a good rooftop bar, very fancy haha and you should bring your swimsuit 

3. Basque De Tapaz - are you good looking? are you expatriate? come here then- i should say this place is good. Used to be my fav when i was younger. But..... so many expatriate hunter here. But if you looking for a pickup girl, well congrats. This is the right place)

4. Loewy - Loewy is a nice place, i love the drinks, the vibes but usually people come here for business meeting 

5. J- Sparrow - if you're not very comfortable at Basque, seriously you just need to go down and have a drink at J-Sparrow, i am actually prefer Jack Sparrow since there is not many pick up girls.. everyone going there just for drinks, business talk, have fun. Just people with nice attitude and no pick up girls here)

6. Cocktail club - good drinks/ fancy vibes for business talk, exclusive drinks lol

7. H Club - never been here, but they say this place is a good club. You should know that H club is the biggest club in Asia.  

8. W Club - this club is one of the most popular club in Jakarta like everyone's favorite but just not for me, i'm not really comfortable with this place since sooo many girls doing that kind of transaction if you know what i mean so yea i just visited this bar once and i don't want to be there next time. 

Historical Places

1. Monumen Nasional (Monas)

2. Kota Tua (Old Town)

Well, i don't have many recommendation for our historical places in Jakarta. Even if we have, that would be so far from central area. We only have a monument in "Monumen Nasional" area to be honesttt, soo for me i prefer go to Kota Tua for street food, for museums, and yea you should have lunch in Batavia Cafe!!

Indonesian Restaurant/ Coffee shop 

1. Remboelan

3. Lara Djonggrang

4. Bakoel Coffee Cikini

5. Batavia Cafe (Kota Tua area)

if you wanna eat in restaurant or coffee shop with very Indonesian vibes, then lucky you reading this article! And please, try "Rendang or Ayam Geprek" when you visit Indonesia. Don't come here if you don't wanna try LOL jk.
